This morning we are up early just for a change, to meet our very Charming guide for our day Ervin Crnovic, here’s a photo of Ervin waiting at the dock for us, it gave everyone the first laugh for the day, as Jane has nicknamed me Agent Barnes!
Unfortunately the weather is not playing the game today, after a year in the planning dreaming of the most beautiful Lake Bled, wasn’t to be! Ervin was very informative and managed to give us a fantastic tour of the most beautiful town in Slovenia. We arrived in Bled at around 10 to be the first boat tour out to the Bled Island, to the church of Assumption where we all rang the wishing bell and made our special wishes, then onto the bell tower. For such a rainy day the views where still picture postcard. After the island we headed up to the Bled Castle where we had a certificate printed on one of the first printing machine, that printed the famous Slovenian, Abecedarium and Catecismum. Then we went into the castle and took some beautiful photos of the lake. For lunch we stopped at the famous cafe Park, home to Slovenia’ s version of the vanilla slice, it had to be devoured, along with A local beer of course. After lunch as the day hasn’t turned out to plan we took a tour to a little medieval town called Radovljica, it was so pretty. More photos to come Ervin, and thank you so much for trying so hard to make a wonderful day for us, and would so recommend you!
Ps just in case your wondering yes Europe is having its worst summer in 100 years yay , if anyone ever tells you “you won’t need a coat, do not believe them!”
