This morning my usual FOMO kicked in waking at 6am to a blue sky morning ready to get out there! So early check out and on the road by 7:30am to have a quick wonder around Stanley Park for some last minute photos. Then a bit of a challenge to get on to the Lions Gate bridge to the Capilano Suspension bridge before the crowds, which is amazing and well worth getting there early too. Back on the road to Horseshoe bay car ferry line up, really pretty crossing as the weather was perfect, scenery special as snow capped mountains in the distance and green green pine trees every where. The ferry took us to Langdale, then our lunch stop was Gibson’s Landing really cute seaside village. As per reading the lonely planet British Columbia & Rocky Mountain Guide mentioned the Smoke on the Water BBQ shack, had to try it and yes it was good, Peter had to thank the chef. The floating homes around the dock also very cool too. Many photos later we headed off to find our accomodation in Sechelt, The Tranquility Bay Inn which is very peaceful no internet YES, it’s on the market to so we are fantasizing over a future here.
As we arrived here no one here to meet us, no phone or internet to call the manager we wandered in and checked it out, waited on the pontoon in the serenity of it all, before eventually Nigel rocked up. All good checked into our little retreat and went into town, which is a little Hicksville few roughies around town, for a few supplies for happy hour. Back to the Inn, and off Peters add went by now it’s 6ish first a paddle board around the islands, then the two of us kayak around again the islands bonus seal sightings thank you, then Peter finds a fishing rod. A relaxing night with a few drinks and a platter, tv and bed.
