Thursday evening 29th March – Tathra Hotel

Headed up to the pub for pre dinner drinks and to listen to a really great band, and a not so great one too! Tonight at the Hotel was a thank you to all the people that saved the town from the bush fires.

We sat with a local lady, her name was Kerry and she was very nice as she has invited us over for a cuppa!☕️

Back to the van and had dinner, Peter out like a light after his big fishing adventure in Bermagui.

Good Friday 30th of March This morning we got the bikes out and headed off to the inlet, came across a couple of girls riding bikes and followed them, to a track to an unknown destination. This ended up to be a great mountain bike/hike track to Moon Bay which we knew nothing about. I will let the photos do the talking! But have to say pretty happy with myself as the track was pretty up and down, saw a few black wallabys along the way too.

Called into this cafe for a coffee on the way back, so lucky to hear this guy singing, only wish we could of had a wine or two as he was really really good!

The thank you note found on our door step when we got back today, as Peter gave them some of his fish last night, lovely note!

The rest of the day was spent on the beach overlooking the beautiful old wharf, then a drive up via the burnt out homes for some more Oysters for happy hour. Cooked the snapper tonight that Peter caught yesterday.

Easter Saturday 31st of March

Peter woke early and headed of to the Tathra wharf for a fish, I got up and walked via the beach to the cliff walk, and met him at the wharf. Luckily my favorite little coffee shop -gallery on the wharf was open. Me on my happy place coffee, country style magazines and Peter in his fishing of the pier with all his mates. The only pier I have ever seen coffee delivered to all the fishermen on the pier by a pretty girl from the wharf cafe, not bad!

After one flathead caught onwards to the next secret destination, Peter was told about from his new found captain of the fishing charter, Aragunnu about twenty minutes up the coast from Tathra in the Mimosa Rocks National park, beautiful spot and you can camp in here as I write this on the beach whilst Peter plays beach fisherman.

Called into the lake —- nearby on the way home, more oysters for tour de oyster compare. The challenge now is to how to crack em! Good ol

Google!

Back at the park for more music from–

A few birds hanging out at the back of the van.

After the music we came back to the park we went for another drive to check out Gillards beach as the family we met from Bawon Heads told us about. Not disappointed it’s a great spot again to camp, as it’s Easter it was pretty full of campers and a naughty little wallaby into the campers rubbish.

Then a quick drink at the bowling club before tea.
