Yay!

After a few weeks packing up de clattering ready to paint upstairs, finally get out of town! Maybe a tad too early as we arrived at the airport two hours before actual check in. So a glass of bubbly at Murphy’s at the airport and a couple of beers for Peter to pass the hours away before our 9:25pm flight. Behaved myself in duty free, luckily Melbourne International airport is under a refurb, so unlucky!

Thanks Nick and Jess for taking up your Sunday afternoon to drop us off.

The first of our flights Emirates Melbourne to Dubai all good, no screaming babies or snoring old men, and a new plane, with thanks to noise cancelling earphones a must. We arrived in Dubai at 5:30am in the morning to lovely heat, after a freezing winter at home. We made our way by bus to terminal C, quick coffee and loo stop before the next flight which left at 8:30am. Smaller plane morning tea and lunch, views over Dubai and Istanbul the closest I’m ever going too!

Leaving Dubai how perfect are these housing complex’s!

Dubai from the sky very hazy
Istanbul mountains from as close as I will get!

Arrived at Zagreb around 12 to a beautiful new airport only to que up for customs for an hour! Met a young New Zealand back packer in the que, Danni  took her under our wings and shared our pick up into Zagreb, with our spunky young driver, Not a bad  way to start a holiday. We dumped our bags showered and kept going, even though we felt like we had been through 24 hours of travelling. Had a drink at the hotel courtyard, gorgeous and found our new friend Thomas to take us on a tour around Zagreb.
