Breakfast at the Fairmont Empress, and then by chance out the front was a Hop on off Bus tour about to start. So on we went as we’ve found them to be great to see everything in a short amount of time and get your bearings in a city.

We did a loop on the bus and then got off at Fisherman’s Warf a walk around, then caught the water taxi to Red Fish Blue Fish. Only the que was a mile long, so went and found the Tapa’s place a young girl told us about in Ucluelet. Followed by a quick drink in a very nice Irish bar, it’s really hot here today! Tad of retail therapy before a nap back at our hotel, as know it will be a big night.

Above is the entrance to our hotel in Victoria, The Union Club of British Columbia, very old fashion men’s club! In a perfect position for sight seeing this beautiful city. We met our new found friends, Liz and Lyn who we met at the peak in Whistler, and their partners Joe and Dan, at a bar called The Local. Instantly Peter hit it off with the girls partners, two of the nicest, interesting guys, lucky enough to meet. We sat outside in the very hot sun, started our evening drinks at 4:30pm. Next Lyn booked us into the Up Market Italian restaurant, Il Terrazzo and very hard to get into in Victoria. If you are going to Victoria, do your self a favour, may a reservation at Il Terrazzo, you will not be disappointed! The food, wine and service is definitely a five star experience!

Very special meal, and wayyyy to many bottles of REALLY nice red wines! These guys can drink! They then where keen to kick on at their house, like we really needed too-Not, and so Peter finally got his big night on our holiday, to bad we are flying out tomorrow night! I guess he will sleep well.

Above Joe and Peter hit it off from the start, both plumbers. Dan Specialized Refrigeration Plumbing Company, so well known about town. As we found out at the last bar we had drinks at. Lucky for us we leave along way from here, as these two could seriously have a drinking problem together. This night became so memorable, we have told the story many times over the past few years. Travelling is truly about the connections you meet along the way. In this case we where so lucky to meet Liz and Lyn on top of the mountain in Whistler. I follow both ladies on Facebook and their travels give me so much inspiration. The night we had with these people we will never forget their incredible generosity and friendship, I hope one day we can return the hospitality, here in Australia.
