Beautiful sun shining day, so off first thing to walk the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet. Definitely not disappointed, as this is a really beautiful trail along the coast and we cracked a perfect morning for it.There are benches in every viewing place possible on this trail, all dedicated to people. They are specifically to sit and spot the whales go by, so peaceful!

As it is a summer weekend here in Ucluelet, it’s very busy. All the cafes are full, but we lucked up on finding “Zoe’s” bakery with a funny Moto Suzie could relate to, We ❤️Gluton! Zoe’s was so good, chia pudding with fresh berries-delicious and almond lattes, best coffee ☕️ so far in Canada.

Peter wandered over to “Jamie’s” the local whale 🐳 and bear 🐻 hunting tours, and booked us on the 5:30pm Whale Spotting tour. I checked out the little market. Then both found a little gallery selling hand blown glass ornaments, bought a couple of pieces to remind us of this area.

A quick bite to eat at Ucluelet famous food truck, selling oysters and fresh tuna tacos, yum!

Off on another trail I wanted to do, the Schooner Cove Trail. A forest trail that leads you over two moss draped streams then down a series of stairs and ramps to Schooner Cove. This was the scenic northern end of Long Beach. Peter didn’t feel like doing it so we planned to meet on the beach. But getting a park lead him into the community of Esowista, home of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation who have lived in the shore for centuries, and quiet a dodgie area! So he quickly reversed out of there to a nearby beach car park. I loved my boardwalk trail, and met him along the Long Beach.

Lots and lots of washed up logs on all the beaches in this area.

A quick trip into Tofino brewery for a taste, How nice are the labels on these beer bottles! Then back into Ucluelet for our 5:30pm whale watching tour.

We did have success in finding a massive killer whale and lots of lion seals. It was a perfect night for it as seas where quite calm, and very picturesque islands between the seas. It’s too hard to see in photos as the boats have to be so far away from the whales.I’m a spunk I know, look great in a big red suit and a beanie! Our Airbnb to the side for two nights in Ucluelet.

The crossing freshly painted!

Again not enough eateries around Ucluelet, as the boat got in at 8:30pm we found the most Roughest Pizza Joint in town, the guy serving me had his knuckles bandaged. Pizza and wine back at the Airbnb and thankful we woke up not with food poisoning!

Probably wouldn’t recommend staying in Ucluelet, the Wild Pacific Trail is so worth doing, but I would definitely stay in Tofino as I loved the vibe there.
