We left the Inn on the Lake at Nanaimo after a quick breakfast before 8am, and on the road to Ucluelet for a two and a half hour drive. Many stops along the way, as the scenery was magnificent, trees and lakes to see.

First stop Coombes for the “Goats on the Roof” general store, and wow what a store it was, packed full of delicious produce. We stopped here for Morning tea and a wander around the area, as next door had a garage sale, which was interesting. The cheeses above looked so pretty, couldn’t not take a photo!

Our next stop Little Qualicum Lower waterfall walk-

Back in the car for another picturesque drive by rivers, snow capped mountains and lakes and still keeping an eye out for bears. Another stop along the way-An unexpected stop along the way with a walk in a very special place!

Next as Peter hates to go past a lake, we stopped by Sproat Lake and found another place to dream of, boat life as we saw a few ski boats! A fire fighting plane in the distance as around this area is in high alert at the moment. We are both enjoying stopping and learning a bit along the way, as it’s such a gorgeous sunny day and really nice drive. No more stopping til we get to Tofino now! Pretty peckish by now and as everyone knows I’m pretty well read before I get to most places and of course can’t miss the original Tacofino truck for lunch! But OMG the que- so sent Peter off to look at surf shop while I wait in line for quite a while. It was worth the wait for the experience, and the young hung over guy behind me had done the line up for the second time today, Peter also liked it- thank god!pp

When we first arrived in Tofino the sea mist was pretty thick as above you can see.z-
