This morning we had breakfast at the nearby Southside Diner, and it was a True Diner experience too, nice n cheap!
Following breakfast we got two complimentary bikes and rode into Whistler main town. It’s actually a lovely ride in as the bike paths around here are fabulous as is the scenery. The lakes are gorgeous as is the homes beside the lakes, lots of people out enjoying all the activities around here and there are a lot!
A bit of shopping in town then met Sam at the bakery we went to on the first day. He booked us into the Whistler Backroads Canoe hire, for The River of Dreams at 4pm. He took the hotel shuttle back to our hotel and then we rode back to the hotel.
Sam dropped us to Alto Lake to pick up our Canoe from the company above, a girl called Sam gave us a quick lesson and off we went. A great fun couple of hours Canoeing down the Golden River of dreams, challenging in some spots too.Lots of kids buy the blow up explorer boats and float down drinking with their music pumping, so we certainly dodged a few of them. Again fun, glad we did it, no bears but a big Mumma geese protecting its family ready to pounce if we dared to come any closer. Also as usual Peter made it into a completion and we blitzed for 50plus’s, as the shuttle then picked us up and took us back to Alto Lake. Sam, Ana, Ivana and Nes met us at the Lake for a lovely Summer BBQ, prepared by the kids- thank you as it was a really lovely night. Xx
