6th of July Friday 2018

Today we decided to drive to the top of the island to Egmont, to walk the trail to the Skookumchuck Rapids.

First stop for coffee was at Halfmoon Bay cafe, a cute little stop surrounded by beautiful beaches and cliff top homes.

Arrived an hour before the high tide to Egmont. Walked the rainforest track, with background music by the birds, stunning hike for an hour til the rapids. The rapids where not in full force today still a truly lovely forest walk though well worth the drive.

After the walk we found the local pub for lunch, the Back Eddy. Again perfect spot overlooking the marina, and mountains. A nice New Zealand girl served us, as we had fish tacos yum as! Here we started the pub crawl home. Next stop was the Garden Bay Pub, one beer, another Marina front pub. Here’s where the rain started, still beautiful scenery, water front homes, pontoons on the water, green green trees. Real locals pub too, as was the next one in Madeira Park, the Grasshopper left just as the Friday night meat raffle just started. And yes over looking yet another Marina, as this Sunshine Coast is boat heaven, so many waterways and islands, waterfront homes everywhere and cheap! Back at the inn by 7pm big day!

Back at the cabin and my little friend a hummingbird visiting it is so cute!
