Our day started off with the full buffet breakfast at the hotel swishy Zinfeldels  restaurant, champagne to start the day, which was very nice.

Champagne and silver wear just the way I like it!
Maybe on the terrace tomorrow morning!

After breakfast we headed off for the day exploring the city on foot today, a few photos of our day-

Trg n.s Zrinskog park
Cathedral of the assumption of the blessed Virgin Mary

Virgin Mary with Angels fountain designed by an Austrian sculptor Hermann Bolle

Dolac market

The painting of the Virgin Mary that was miraculously saved from a fire in 1731, and since this chapel has been a place of pilgrimage ever since.
The stone gate one enters the upper town through, the only one that remains intact. It was built in the Middle Ages. Under the arch is a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
St Marks Church on the upper town
The museum of broken relationships, thinking of Sally here as she loves quirky stuff. The story on the both shoes gave me a laugh.

Lotrscak Tower a preserved medieval tower from the 13tg century we climbed to check the views of the city. There is a cannon that goes off everyday at 12, Peter was disappointed we had missed it!

Our lunch spot for today – faulty towers waiter ,we did as we where told.

Didn’t feel like the frogs, eels or snails today😜
Peter’s Brutal lunch as the waiter said!

The most run down place around as the owner died and has no family. Check out the street lamps, which are run on gas. A little man lights the hundreds of street lamps nightly.
Loving the flower window beds every where
Illirski trg , notice the painted in windows apparently to stop the nuns from leaving.
Our friend Thomas said this was his favourite drinking spot yesterday, so of course we tried it out. Nice and quiet with a lovely view back to the cathedral.

Need to ditch this photo

Pigeon man walking through the city with the birds following.

Me in a cute street full of cafes – Tkalciceva st the place to sit and people watch.
So it’s 7:15pm Peters crashed out on the bed after our walk around town, which we caught the tram back to our hotel. No tea yet and don’t know if we will be as he is looking pretty tired out. Zagreb has a nice small city vibe to it, lovely gardens, architecture and friendly people. It feels pretty safe and family orientated. It’s a nice place to stop over for a couple of days.
