Santorini

Jo and Ged found the local bakery yesterday found the local bakery which was not good for us as it was way too good! The best custard filo pastry on the planet, so lucky we can’t eat these more often, so that was breakfast for three days, as we knew we couldn’t find these again! So today was our beach day, off by local bus to Kamari beach, easier said than done! This trip by bus was an experience in the local way! I wish we had a spy cam, they completely fill the bus to maximum capacity, then the conductor attempts to come down the aisle for payment. So two bus trips and we make it to Kamari beach, which we had a great day.IMG_4817IMG_4798IMG_4799

We found the first restaurant and ordered drinks to get our free beach lounges and set up for the day! The water was warm and clean we had a great swim session!

For lunch we wandered up the beach to the local Gyros bar, and enjoyed our 2 euro lunch. The boys found the bar at the end of the beach and found some new friends, where set for the afternoon, while we had a bit more beach time!

My next call was while we where on the bus lets go on to Oia for the sunset! Another ten thousand odd people had the same idea, much to Ged’s delight!

We quickly found the closest roof top restaurant and got the last table. We look, it was like a scene from the running with the bulls as all the tour groups scurrried  through the streets. We all enjoyed our viewing spot and dinner at the Sunset bar, before a little shopping before we got on the bus for home in Imergovila away from the crowds in Oia.
