We had an early morning wake up call at 5am this morning, for our pick up at 6am this morning leaving Dubai for Paris. Our flight was delayed for nearly 3 hours, which gave us a bit of time to look around the Massive airport, and can confirm Dad your travelling days through this airport are officially over here. Trains to gates, lifts, miles apart, we could only think of you. Finally boarded the Emirates flight and this time we are in the first row, which is not half as good as the back row, right near toilets, and was entertained by one freak who either has prostate cancer or a bad case of the shits. Onto a huge positive, I was sat next to the most interesting, helpful, talented guy Iain Statham. He is a press photographer that covers war zone stories from all over the world. I was quietly posting my holiday shots on the blog, he was beside me and happens to tell me he’s a photographer, shows me the most incredible photos of his latest photos from a refugee camp in Uganda ( think that’s right Iain? ) amazing, and embarrassing as in mine. He then gave me a two hour or more photography lesson and taught me so much on my Camera, in which I thank him so much. Any one reading get on to his web site, you will not be disappointed. Iain is about to go to Iraq, so stay safe as I say to my kids!
We arrived in Paris around 3 hours late, got through customs ect pretty quickly and found the shuttle I had booked. Everyone knows what a stress head I am if I’m not control of the wheel, we’ll I had to practice some deep breathing, because we found Paris’s fastest driver, thought the Thais and baliness where crazy, they have nothing on this guy. Anyway we made it and it was a pretty unbelievable feeling to see the Notre dame, seine river architecture, I really did cry! We checked into the Hotel Eiffel Seine, which is pretty quirky and 2 minutes to the Eiffel Tower, as we had missed the tour of the Eiffel Tower I had booked, due to the flight delay. We couldn’t reach the company on the phone so we walked there to see if we could find the tour company, and found a tour same company about to start. The girl taking the tour said its non refundable, but 2 people hadn’t turned up for the next one, so if they didn’t turn up we could have theirs. So lucky they didn’t show we got the tickets, which if you could see the lines of people waiting , it was like winning tatttslotto! Tour was fantastic, it was the behind the scene, which takes you underground to the mechanics of it all, then when your up on the second level they take you to a special spot the general public don’t go to, loved it and our guide was so interesting –

This was a huge day as we started at 5am in Dubai, arrived in Paris hours later and 2 hours behind Dubai. So after the Eiffel Tower we just had a quick bit at a restaurant beside our hotel pretty average, but didn’t care at that point. Both of us had the best day ever, so we thought.
